Province Wise Tourist Destinations

Province wise tourist destination selected by Federal Government of Nepal are:

Province 1: Sandakpur Ilam

Attraction: the highest peak in Ilam District, Nepal and West Bengal, India. It is the highest point of the Singalila Ridge in Darjeeling district on the West Bengal-Nepal border. The peak is located at the Sandakpur Rural Municipality, Nepal and the edge of the Singalila National Park, India. Four of the highest peaks in the world; Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhoste and Makalu can be seen from its summit. It also affords a pristine view of the entire Kanchenjunga Range.

Province 2: Dhanusha Dham, Dhanusha

Attraction: the pilgrimage site where consort of Lord Ram, Sita was born. It is also known as Janakpur and Mithila Kshetra, City of religious and cultural significance. Janaki Temple, Janaki sanctuary, the Ram Mandir, Vivaha Mandap, Janak Mandir, Laxman temple and additionally the dozens of sacred Sagars (Ponds); Dhanush Sagar, Ganga Sagar, and Parshuram Kunda are some of them.

Province 3: Indrasarowar Khulekhani Makawanpur

Attraction: Indrasarowar is the largest manmade lake in Nepal for the Kulekhani Hydroelectric Project. 


Gandaki Province: Panchase, Kaski

Attraction: The Panchase Trek is one of Nepal’s hidden gems. Being in the same region as the Annapurna CircuitPoon Hill trek and the Royal Trek, it is often overlooked by hikers. The Panchase Trek is the perfect destination for beautiful scenery and mountain peak views.


Province 5: Niglihawa Lumbini, Kapilvastu

Attraction: Niglihawa is identified as the holy place where Kanakamuni Buddha was born. Emperor Asoka visited the site in 249 BC and erected the stone pillar with an inscription on it. The Asoka inscription engraved on the pillar in Brahmi script and Pali language attests the fact that Emperor Asoka enlarged the Kanakamuni Buddha's stupa, worshipped it and erected a stone pillar to mark the birthplace of Kanakamuni Buddha on the occasion of the twentieth year of his coronation.


Karnali Province: Rara (Mahendra) Lake, Mugu

Attraction: Rara is the largest Lake situated in Mugu district of Nepal. Karnali Province is celebrating Rara Karnali Visit Year 2075.

Sudurpaschim Province: Bhadagaun, Kailali
