Kathmandu: The election schedule for the eighth general convention of the CPN (Maoist Center) has been published. The Election Committee has published the election schedule for the selection of the Central Committee on Saturday afternoon.
According to the schedule drawn up by the committee chairperson Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, the registration of candidates has been fixed from 8 pm to 10:30 pm on Saturday. Voting is scheduled to take place on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
According to the Maoist constitution, the delegates to the General Convention will elect a 299-member central committee. The elected committee will elect 15 members including the chairperson.
The election process of the Maoist center has started as soon as the draft constitution was passed from the closed session on Saturday. The Election Committee has pasted the names of 1,742 candidates in the Pragya Bhawan.
