The total number of local bodies are 753, which are:
  1. Metropolitans: 6, 
  2. Sub-metropolitans: 11, 
  3. Municipalities: 276 and
  4. Rural municipalities: 460

  • The highest number of Municipalities: Rautahat (16)
  • The highest number of Rural Municipalities: Dhading (11)
  • Without Rural Municipalities: Kathmandu & Bhaktapur
  • Without Municipalities: Manang, Mustang, Rasuwa, Humla and Purbi Rukum
  • The equal number of Rural Municipalities: State 6 (Karnali) and State 7 (54 Rural Municipalities)
