Devotees at Triveni Dham on the occasion of New Year

Triveni Dham: A Sacred Confluence Drawing Thousands in Nepali New Year 2082

Triveni Dham, located in Nawalparasi district of western Nepal, holds immense religious and cultural significance. Situated near the southern border with India, this holy site is known as the confluence of three sacred rivers—Sona, Tamasa, and Sapta Gandaki—making it a revered pilgrimage destination for Hindus across Nepal and India.

According to ancient scriptures and local belief, Triveni Dham is where Lord Rama performed the Shraddha (ritual offering) for his father King Dasharatha. As such, the area is not only a site of natural beauty but also of deep mythological and spiritual importance. The holy pond, temples, and serene surroundings add to its sanctity.

Every year, during the Nepali New Year celebrations, thousands of devotees from different regions flock to Triveni Dham to offer prayers, take ritual baths, and seek blessings for peace, prosperity, and good health in the coming year. The New Year 2082 was no exception. From early morning, the site witnessed a surge of pilgrims, religious chants, and traditional music echoing through the air. Cultural programs, spiritual discourses, and community feasts marked the celebration.

Triveni Dham has also become a symbol of religious harmony, where people from various communities gather with shared reverence. Its growing popularity in recent years has also led to improvements in infrastructure and visitor facilities, promoting spiritual tourism in the region.

In the spirit of the New Year, Triveni Dham continues to inspire devotion, cultural pride, and hope for a harmonious future.
